Unique double bill with two of Africa’s leading ladies; Dobet Gnahoré & Fatoumata Diawara
Dobet is widely considered one of contemporary African music’s most exciting talents, her diverse music composition moves from delicate ballads to upbeat African grooves, and serves as a resounding introduction to this voice of the future. Fatoumata Diawara is a singer and guitar player from Mali, a multitalented artist, who recently featured in the praised film Timbuktu by Abderrahmane Sissako. She is one of a growing number of musicians working on a sort of pan-folk sound that incorporates influences from across a broad Afro-Western cultural spectrum.
