Stewart Sukuma is undoubtedly one of Mozambique’s leading artists! Both as an artist and as a person, he has a sparkling and strong charisma. He is also a successful entrepreneur , even his the costumes are of his own design! Stewart Sukuma is an incredibly gifted musician, singer and composer, and a truly inspiring person.
He connects music and social work. He works together with the “National Campaign Against AIDS”, the National Electoral Commission, UNICEF and other aid organizations to increase awareness of issues related to health and human rights. 2004 he co-founded Sem Critica, a movement dedicated to strengthening young people by encouraging the use of their artistic skills and talents. Education through culture is one of his priorities and concerns!
Sukuma combines traditional and modern moçambiqian music and instrumentation to create energetic, danceable music with an African / pop / jazz sound.
