Singer, song writer Asayehegn Alemu a.k.a. Ayu joined the ethiopian music scene after graduating college from Haromaya University.
He played with Roots and Culture, Classic, Afro Sound, Express bands and more for years and moved to the United States. Collaborating with the critically acclaimed Ethiopian song writer, producer and bass player Yohannes Tona, he co- wrote, executive produced (with Yisakal Entertainment) and released his debut album in 2014 in Ethiopia. The album, considered as one of the best albums released this year was nominated in best album and best new artist catagories on Leza Music Awards.
